5 Ways to Incorporate Flickr Into Your Business’ Strategy

Not sure how to incorporate Flickr into your business’ social media strategy? Having a Flickr account is a great tool for your small business! Here are a few tips to jumpstart your Flickr account and how to create a community that will ultimately benefit your business.

1. First, when you set up your Flickr account, choose whether you want to use your business name or your personal name as your Flickr account username. Each time you upload a photo, post a comment, your username, is visible to everyone you interact with. Make sure which ever you choose it stays consistent with the branding on your other social media sites

2. Start your own Flickr group. Find a topic that relates to your business or will be of interest to your clients and create a group around that. Social media will be most beneficial when you create a community to interact with.

3. Build your Flickr community and contacts by inviting your friends and clients, and also by networking with other Flickr users you meet online through your other social media sites. You will see your contacts’ new photos on your Flickr homepage and, more importantly, they will see yours too.

4. Make sure that your Flickr photos are uploaded and then optimized with correct titles, tags and a relevant description. If you upload many photos, this can be time consuming, so focus on the best pictures to really optimize for your website and just include titles and tags for the rest.

5. Integrate your Flickr account with your other social media applications such as Facebook. On Facebook, you can automate combining these by using applications, such as ping.fm, that will automatically post a note on your Facebook profile and let your friends know when you have uploaded new photos to Flickr.
