1.     Advanced Applications

There are numerous LinkedIn applications that can be added to your profile that can give your online presence that little extra over your traditional resume. If you go to the left side of your profile, you can find a link labeled “Applications,” where you can access all of the various applications such as WordPress, Amazon Reading List, Slideshare Presentations, My Travel and many others.

Presentations can show off your work or your expertise, the Amazon Reading List can highlight what books you are currently reading to stay up to date in your industry, and My Travel can let your contacts know where you will be next in your travel schedule.

 

 

2.     Creating Events

You can create an event to market your business or to connect with clients through seminars, webinars, or networking events. Any event that you create can be searched by location, date, and time allowing other networkers to see what is available. In addition to search capabilities, LinkedIn users can see all of the attendees to see whom they would like to connect or network with. Ultimately, the events are beneficial to your business since you can customize these events to direct your clients to your website or to where they can get more information from you and your business.

 

3.     Groups

LinkedIn groups and subgroups are a great way to connect people from the same industry, but also for businesses to connect with their customers. By creating and joining groups, there will be an increased ability for people to find you through searches.

Once you have created or joined the group, there is the ability to browse through group members to increase your network and people that may be interested in your product or services.

Lastly, if you create your own group you have the advantage to send a weekly InMail message to your group to remind them of events, offers, and information that may help the group members.
